I exhibited three of my “Tree” woodcuts at the Amelia Douglas Gallery in Jan-April 2024, as part of my solo show, “Beloved of the Sky”.

I also participated in a group show at Place des Arts in May 2022, entitled “Extractions: Resources through an Artistic Lens”, in which I exhibited a woodcut and a charcoal drawing.

Many of my recent prints concerning colour, composition and local signage were on display at the New Westminster Public library in June 2022. “Locations in Linocut” was my first solo exhibition!

Malaspina Printmakers exhibited 5 of my large linocuts in April 2023.

I had a small show of mini prints on the theme of “Housing for All” at the Free Little Art Gallery in New Westminster in March 2023.

    The Cultch Gallery, Vancouver, B.C.

Twelve works will be exhibited Oct 1-28, 2024, selected from a body of 20 works based on Spring florals. These are spontaneous, bold monotypes in vibrant colours combining expressive marks and chine collé elements. The images are 8x10 on 11x15 Rives BFK, so if framed would be about 14x18. The framed works are priced at $375 each. Opening night is Wednesday, Oct. 2, 6-8 pm. (This is a joint show with another artist.)

    Malaspina Printmakers--Online exhibit

I will have 5 small prints available through the Malaspina Printmakers “Prints for Post” fundraiser happening this Summer 2024. Visit www.malaspinaprintmakers.com to view available postcard sized prints and purchase a ticket to receive a random print in the mail. The money goes to support an amazing artist-run collaborative printmaking studio that provides affordable art making space to local artists. Fundraiser closes in September but prints sale may be extended.

My fascination with patterns and design in nature has led to a series of prints featuring closely observed aspects of foliage and other natural materials. In recent years I created original prints in small editions using a reductive approach by repeatedly carving and printing a linoleum or wood block. Professional grade waterbased inks and acid-free rag papers are the vehicles for expression, either hand printed or with an etching press. In some prints I have focussed on the use of primary colours and Mondrian-like compositional structures based on familiar scenes and the signage of iconic local businesses. I have also become interested in capturing specific trees around the province in expressive ways with woodcut, highlighting climate issues and stressing their beauty and our need to preserve our unique west coast environment. Lately I have moved to the monotype process with added chine collé elements for its immediacy, freshness and vibrant feeling of surprise.
