General Exhibition History:
I have shown my paintings all through the years since I completed my B.F.A. degree in 1986. Highlights include showings at the Banff Center (1986/87), Jamaica, (1988), Brooklyn, (1989), Vancouver Community Arts council, (1987), Vancouver Art Gallery, (1993) and Teacher Art exhibits at Place des Arts, (1998, 2018) and Evergreen Cultural Center. (2010, 2012). I have also actively shown paintings and drawings at New Westminster Cultural Crawls annually since 2019.
Current work (Summer-Fall 2024) exploring use of landscape and forest imagery layered onto collages of environmental news headlines. Mixed media acrylic in a range of sizes.
Charcoal Drawings
My recent work (2022-2023) has featured local trees and scenes which highlight their beauty and vulnerability in the face of environmental damage, forest fires and clearcutting. Many of these drawings also use burnt tree charcoal found on fire sites. Each drawing here is approximately 18”x 24”, the bordered woodcuts are 22x 30”, and ones on canvas are 32”x 45”.
Works here were recently on exhibit, and may be available to purchase at this time. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions. As of May 27th, 2024, 8 of the works in the gallery have been sold!

“The theme of the Skytrain as a topic of visual discovery has been the focus of these works over the past year, starting in early 2021. A sampling of the 21 works in the series are shown here. Each acrylic on canvas painting is 12” x 12” , and represents my exploration of composition as influenced by Mondrian, with an emphasis on primary colour, greys, and linear division of spaces. Larger works below are done on vintage maps using a combination of silkscreening, stencilling, collage and acrylic paint layered on to the pieces. These pieces are my visualization of the frenetic imagery when I move through spaces both urban and rural in compressed time frames.”
